I ate in Secco for the first time last night, and ordered the chicken breast with fries and Gorgonzola sauce. It was superb, and I will definitely be going back there again soon to try other items from the menu. Couple this with the extensive and creative drinks menu/cocktail specials, and I have been completely won over by Secco. As a final note, the staff in my experience have always been very friendly, polite, helpful and accommodating.

Have to completely agree with the Red Roarer. In my opinion Secco is the best place in town for a number of reasons; the food is amazing, the cocktails are always tasty and booze packed and the service in my experience has always been excellent. Am looking forward to spending the summer on the outdoor terrace there, especially with the world cup just a week away and the huge screen they have set up for it.

This is my first review on Hello Nanjing. I hope it is informative. Last night (Monday night) I invited my staff to dinner and drinks in Secco. If I have one complaint of the night - and I only have one - it's that one of my colleagues arrived late, which I'm delighted to say didn't happen to the meals that we ordered. Chef Winny outdid himself in preparing and serving the meals, and all meals were served at the same time and piping hot. We ordered a wide range of meals and the plates were all but licked clean. The staff were professional and courteous and the bill was clearly itemized; it couldn't have been easier. I have eaten there about 4 or 5 times and I must say that at first I was a little wary of the prices but after finishing each meal I have sat back utterly satisfied with what had been served. After all, if you want quality you should be prepared to pay for it. The drinks menu is comprehensive and the coctails are never short of booze. The music wasn't too loud and was conducive to a relaxed atmosphere - no need for straining your voice. After the meals were devoured we further contented ourselves by playing pool and foosball, finally reclining outside to watch a movie on the giant screen outside.
In summary, the Secco bar & restaurant experience was pretty hard to beat. Would I go back and do it all again? Without any hesitation.

This place is overrated. First its expensive, count on at least 400 RMB if you eat and have a few drinks. Second it's not really a bar per se, it's quite often quiet in there, not really a place to come for a cold one on your own. Fourth they have a bad habit of fudging their bills.

Once I ate with a friend. my friend paid and left. And then they charged me for his bill again. I heard this has happened to other people as well.

Without doubt this is Nanjings best bar & restaurant. Chef Winnie's menu is amazing and Marcus' drinks menu is unbeatable.
They recently got a massive outdoor screen(must be the biggest in Nanjing) which will be great for any sports events.
I'm looking forward to a big summer '10 from them:)

If you come in late on a Fri. or Sat. there is usually a fun crowd in. Good strong cocktails as well, but a bit expensive.
